Make A Difference

Imahe
Make a Difference- reminded me of my experiences with the Ateneo School For Upcoming Leaders, Ateneo Campus Leadership Discovery, Xavier Engaged and Experienced Leadership, School of Business and Management Student Council, Kristohanong Katilingban sa Pagpakabana- Social Involvement Office and the Circulo De Arte. (My Leadership and Spiritual Formation) Make a difference.  Ever since I experienced those leadership and spiritual formations, the way I think, talk and act  changed for the better. I entered the university with only one goal and that was to graduate with honors. I believe that  goal was a little bit selfish when I became aware of my role in the society. My formation made me see that college life is not only about excelling in my academics. College life is also about learning how to make a difference in one's  life and in the lives of others.  I guess my college life wouldn't be life-changing if I didn't take the risk in being aware and

Design 02: Leather and Laces

Imahe
I was reading my first copy of Preview magazine (September 2014) when I was inspired to design a piece. The photos on the runway where the designers made use of laces made me want to pick up my sketchbook and coloring materials to create my version. I wanted to design something that would stand out so I used the color black because for me somehow the color brings this strong aura especially if leather is used. It took me days to design these since I was busy studying and working in the past few weeks. I don't force myself to design anything. Inspiration can be found anywhere so I keep my sketchbook and art materials ready just in case inspiration comes knocking. ^_^ Here's what I have designed. :)

DESIGN 01: Filipiniana

Imahe
In the past few months, I have been reading fashion magazines and making myself aware of the countless names of famous designers and brands across the globe. I made my first mood board with the theme, "I love Philippines". Through gathering internet photos of the various events and sceneries in the country, I came up with this. (credits to the owners of the photos in the mood board :) I wanted to look into the design of the Filipiniana because when I see women wearing it, it makes me travel back in time. (Maria Clara ♥) For me, the design of the Filipiniana is elegant and very beautiful.  Seeing the design made me realize that the early Filipinos are so creative that they were able to come up with unique designs which up to this day still is able to bring pride and honor to the country when worn.  By using this mood board, I came up with my own set of designs. :)  A.  B.
