Experience Ilocos

Travelling to Ilocos is by far one of the longest land trips I have ever experienced in my entire life but it's one of the countless trips I've made that left me wanting to travel more.

We left Metro Manila on a busy Friday night at around 10:00 pm as we expect to arrive in Ilocos at around 5:00 in the morning. We had our breakfast at the Hidden Garden and the Pork Tapa which costs Php 150 that I had satisfied my hunger for food overnight.

Our first stop is the Baluarte ni Chavit Singson at Vigan, Ilocos Sur. The most memorable experience that I had here is getting to see real life and preserved animals up close and personal. The entrance fee here was less than Php 100 since the tour that we were able to avail was at a promo price of Php 2000, exclusive of entrance fees from Triple 8.

(Safari Museum)

Pagburnayan is an old school pottery in Vigan. The coolest thing here is that you'd get to experience how to create a jar out of clay! How about that? 😍

The Bantay Church Bell Tower is located at Bantay, Ilocos Sur. Bantay, which means guard served as a tower to spot pirates during the Spanish colonial era. Tourists can go up the steps of the bell tower at an affordable entrance fee.

Bantay Church is located next to the Bantay Church Bell Tower. This church is also known as the St. Augustine Parish Church.

The Juan Luna Shrine is located at Badoc, Ilocos Norte. Here, I've learned more about the Luna brothers and how they've contributed to our Philippine history. In here I have seen the palettes and paintbrushes, paintings, writings and memorabilias of the famous artist. What caught my attention the most is the room where you can hear and be inspired of what it's like to be a Filipino from the artist himself.

You can't imagine how thrilled I was to see this place personally and be inspired of Juan Luna's life and works as an artist.

Welcome to the Juan Luna Shrine!

Next stop is the MalacaΓ±ang Palace of the North. It is the presidential museum located at Paoay, Ilocos Norte. This place is huge!

Makes me miss the life of a student leader  and serving the student government.

This place even has an awesome view!

Paoay Sand Dunes Adventure is by far my only roller coaster ride experience. At Php 500/person you'd get to experience the beauty of the place, scream and enjoy the ride! It's a good thing that we were there later in the afternoon. That was like the coolest ride ever! It was also my loudest scream ever! :D

Unlimited Sand surfing!

Paoay Church, also known as St. Augustine Church of Paoay is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Churches like this makes me feel breathless 😍

Cape Bojeader Lighthouse and it's breathtaking view! <3

The second day of our trip was the hottest! We visited the Kapurpurawan rock formation and spent around 5-10 mins walking under the heat of the Sun to experience the beauty of where the windmills, rock formations and the ocean collide.

Bangui Wind Farm <3 I believe there are hundreds of windmills in Ilocos. It's everywhere! 😍😍😍

Ending day two relaxing in the Blue Lagoon. Spent 4 hours swimming in the hot afternoon. Sunkissed 😘

Who would leave Vigan without visiting the famous Kalye Crisologo? It's like one of those places you shouldn't miss if you go to Vigan. It's like time stopped in this place and I can still imagine what it's like in the Spanish era 😍 A trip to the past that you shouldn't miss as a Filipino 😊

Book your flight to Ilocos and be inspired with its' history! Travel! 😍
