Why volunteer work doesn't feel like work

Imahe
The Rotary Club of Midtown Butuan celebrated their 5th Anniversary in Brgy. Libertad through conducting Dental, Medical, and Feeding activities in the community. Since my aunt and my mother are members of the organization, I was invited to take part in the event. ^_^  It's volunteer life all over again for me but this time I had a chance to experience being a part of an event which served my fellow Butuanons. I hope that I would get to experience more activities like this. I'm happy and blessed to have been invited as this happened when I came back to Butuan after passing the CPA boards. <3

I am a Certified Public Accountant

"An Accountant is an asset that never depreciates through time. "  The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Misamis Oriental Chapter conducted its' 2nd General Membership Meeting and the Oath-taking of New CPA's   last December 3, 2015, Thursday. Now it's official. In the halls of Grand Caprice Cagayan de Oro City we took our oath as Certified Public Accountants.  We were able to get to know our fellow new CPA's in the event. Who could have known that my schoolmate Ate Celona and I will take oath together! We celebrated this event together with our proud parents. Excited for more PICPA activities! <3

Environmental Art Workshop for a community

I wanted to thank God for His blessings so the first thing that I did after passing the 2015 CPA board examination was volunteer in the area with my KKP family.  I didn't have enough sleep then but it was still a go for me. When we were in college we were used to doing volunteer work on subsequent days so the lack of sleep was no longer an issue :)) This event happened a day after the results were released. I was so thrilled to have been invited to be a part of this as it was an art day for all of us! :)) The event was lead by the University Library's American Corner together with KKP.  There I was tasked to take videos of the event for the documentation. ♥   The youth were taught how to recycle water bottles. The bottles were transformed into art! Creativity it is.  See for yourself! :)) The kids were able to come up with bees, trains, a few minion artworks (yes to minions :P) and a life-sized robot! Here's a photo o

Pole Dancing 101

Imahe
I attended a class on Intro to Pole Dancing at Terra Nostra, Butuan City last Saturday. It was an experience that I challenged myself to get involved with as it not only helps build one's confidence but also improves on one's strength and fitness. They offer regular classes not only for adults but for kids too! I had a one hour one-on-one session with Teacher Rhyn then and it was fun and challenging at the same time! Anyhow, here's what happened during the sesh: This is the first thing that I  was able to accomplish! :3  Happy was I to know that I could actually carry myself up in that pole with no hands! (Insert Game Face On Here xD -FOCUS! ) .. and then with hands..  Here's teacher rhyn  That dream girl move tho.. :3 it's difficult!  I hope I could execute it perfectly in the future. :)) Here's more! :3 ..and to wrap it up :)) Excited to attend their regular classes

Achievement Unlocked: CPA

October 2015 made a mark not only in my life but also on my name. It’s now three letters longer. I’m still in cloud 9 as my mind is still freaking out. I’m in the state of, “ I can’t believe that this is happening! OMG! Can you please wake me up from this dream? Can you please pinch my arm because I asdfghjkl can’t believe that this is for real! ” I can’t give you the exact formula of passing the boards but I’d like to share to you how things happened for me. Last May, I had to give up work to review for the October 2015 CPA Board Examinations. I decided to enroll at the Professional Review Training Center (PRTC) in Cagayan de Oro City. I would recommend that you’d also choose this review center. You won’t regret it. I’d say that having your classmates with you during your review is a must. In the first months of my review I was so motivated that I’d wake up at 6 am so that I could prepare for my 8AM-5PM review classes but as weeks passed I could no longer wake up

Make Your Own Havaianas CDO 2015: A Trip to Hawaii

Imahe
Credits to the owner of this photo :) Seven months ago, I experienced my first Make Your Own Havaianas (MYOH) at Robinsons Place Butuan as an MYOH kid together with four of my fellow Butuanons. It was the first MYOH in the city with a Brazillian theme. Last year's event was fun and exciting. Two months after, I began working at Spruce Designer Network, Inc. and again became a part of the MYOH Team. This time I was no longer a "kid" as we call it but am now a "veteran" of the event. The month of April was full of preparations and anxiety. There were times when we had to extend hours just to make sure that all things were ready for the said event. As we were counting the days, our anxiety level was beyond compare to what I felt last year when I was still a kid.  We enjoyed getting to know and chatting with the kids! Witnessing the orientation brought back the memories and emotions that I've felt during our orientation last year. :')
