Thinking Out Loud

Imahe
I am writing this blog while listening to the song entitled, "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran. I don't know why I've played it for like 5 times now and I can't help but listen to the message of the song and think about the music video. I don't know what to write about as writing a new year's resolution is just too mainstream. I was planning to write about my year but I guess it's just too boring. So, I think I'd share to you the things that I am thankful for and the things that I am planning to do for the coming year. Everyday I wake up at 5:30 am to prepare for my day of school and work. 6 times a week I have to go out and do my share of work in this world. You may probably ask me why and how I'd manage to work and study at the same time. Well, here's my answer: PURPOSE. I have a purpose to fulfill. I wish to work to develop my skills so that someday I'll achieve my hopes and dreams of becoming a successful individual i

Back to December

Imahe
December- the year 2014 is about to end and we will once again welcome a year of happiness and sadness, success and failures, love and loss, hope and faith. 20 years of celebrating the Christmas season made me see and realize some of life's important lessons and experiences. I could still remember the time when my parents introduced to us Mr. Santa Claus. They told us that we have to sleep and then wake up some time at 12 midnight to open our gifts from this guy. I was having doubts at that time at whether to believe my parents that Santa Claus exist or not. But I tried to sleep and yes, I woke up at 12 midnight and voila! I received a gift wrapped in a shiny paper. It was big! When I opened it, I received a new toy. It was not unusual for me and my brothers to receive new toys since our parents would buy us new ones whenever we visit the malls but the toy that I received on Christmas Day was an unusual one. You know what I received? It was an office set for a doll

I am a Dressmaker

Achievement Unlocked! It's official! I am now a graduate of the Alternative Learning System-Dressmaking class before the year 2014 ended. :3 I didn't expect my parents to come since the parents were not required or asked to attend but they did because they wanted to take a photo of me on my graduation day. ♥ So while we were lining up for the processional march, my father was already standing next to our line looking for me and he took this photo! I waited for our class to be called on stage to receive our certificates and when we had our turn, my mother took a photo :3 I'm happy that both of my supportive parents attended my 2014 graduation day! :))  My mother just took multiple photos :))  Since my mother was the one who took the photos, we don't have a picture together. :) So it's official. 5-6months of training ends today. I couldn't thank our facilitator Mrs. Nenita Lorenzo enough for being the best teacher ever! She is

Conquered another examination

Imahe
Achievement Unlocked! Woohoo for the early morning surprise! I can't help but feel a mini heart attack when I knew that the results were out. I've prepared for that exam for weeks and even had a one last study time with my brother a night before the examination. The agony of waiting for the results is over! It's finally out! My brother and I passed the Civil Service Examination in just one take! For God's greater glory!

The Reformer

I once again placed myself in an unexpected situation. After my law class, I visited the volunteer center and was invited to attend the Enneagram retreat last Saturday. I didn't know what to expect but I decided to join a few minutes before 7:30pm of Saturday. I didn't know the exact location of the place where I was headed for the retreat so I had to ask for directions. Yes, I was all alone. It was night time. And I was a little bit afraid.  When  I arrived in the venue I was asked to answer a questionnaire with 144 items that made me think of how I was in my 20 years of existence. I was late for the retreat but I was able to catch up. I finished answering and got the result. My highest score is 22 which is equal to the first personality. I am a reformer. What then is a reformer?  Based on the definition of the reformer, what applies to me is the part where it says that a reformer is principled, idealistic, conscientious, ethical, with a strong sense of ri

Tattooed by Lulu Dk

Lately, I've been experiencing something different from the usual when I started working. One of those unusual and exciting experience is when I was tasked to be a project head for my first event with the company. I have been a project head for various projects since my first year in college and this though the process is the same, the people I was with in the team as well as the people that I was able to meet was different from the usual people I was able to work with. So before the event started, here's a photo of my team! :3  You might wonder what event I am talking about. Well, it's the Lulu Dk Pre-Selling Event at the Spruce LimKetkai. I took a photo of my Lulu Dk tattoo before the event proper. Here's to my gold tattoo! Lulu Dk is a designer and artist. You should check out her website. I love the designs of the scarfs! She used a touch of gold and silver on it! ♥ The team prepared the place like this!  It's a bush with cute sunnies!

Designer: Cary Santiago

Imahe
I purchase the Preview Magazine monthly ever since September for a lot of reasons and the corner where they talk about influential designers is my most favorite part. Not only is it inspirational for aspiring designers but it motivates us to be better because we have people to look up to.  I knew about the designer Cary Santiago because of the article in the magazine. Reading it moved me to pursue this passion that I am beginning to love. The article together with the photos of the designer's work made me think about what the industry would be like if I'd choose to pursue it seriously someday like being able to build my name in the industry. So when I was talking to my boss the other day and mentioned the name of the designer, she handed me an invitation card to the opening of this event but it was already around 5:30pm when it came up but I didn't want to lose the chance of seeing the work I admired so much when I saw it in the magazine. I was so thrilled to know

You can(not) start the change

Imahe
Hello there reader! ^_^ If you haven't read my blog on making a difference please do check it out as this blog post is connected to it.  Have you ever wondered where I got my cool shirts? (Like the one that says, "Make A Difference" or maybe this?)  I bet you do!  ^_^  I forgot to mention the name of the shop as I posted my previous blog so if you'd like to buy cool shirts like mine you can visit the "SML Boutique" on facebook and order one now! :) I came across the shop as I was searching for online shops on facebook. (This is an additional to my online shopping experience) SML boutique so far offers 3 inspirational shirt collections and I bought one from each. ^_^  They're shop is so cool because you could choose your desired statement, shirt color and size (like awesome customization! ^_^ I bet there are only a few shops who could offer you 10+ color choices like them!)  and the quality of the t-shirt print is very good.

Make A Difference

Imahe
Make a Difference- reminded me of my experiences with the Ateneo School For Upcoming Leaders, Ateneo Campus Leadership Discovery, Xavier Engaged and Experienced Leadership, School of Business and Management Student Council, Kristohanong Katilingban sa Pagpakabana- Social Involvement Office and the Circulo De Arte. (My Leadership and Spiritual Formation) Make a difference.  Ever since I experienced those leadership and spiritual formations, the way I think, talk and act  changed for the better. I entered the university with only one goal and that was to graduate with honors. I believe that  goal was a little bit selfish when I became aware of my role in the society. My formation made me see that college life is not only about excelling in my academics. College life is also about learning how to make a difference in one's  life and in the lives of others.  I guess my college life wouldn't be life-changing if I didn't take the risk in being aware and

Design 02: Leather and Laces

Imahe
I was reading my first copy of Preview magazine (September 2014) when I was inspired to design a piece. The photos on the runway where the designers made use of laces made me want to pick up my sketchbook and coloring materials to create my version. I wanted to design something that would stand out so I used the color black because for me somehow the color brings this strong aura especially if leather is used. It took me days to design these since I was busy studying and working in the past few weeks. I don't force myself to design anything. Inspiration can be found anywhere so I keep my sketchbook and art materials ready just in case inspiration comes knocking. ^_^ Here's what I have designed. :)
